  1. The ‘More Effective Meetings’ workshop focuses on all aspects of planning, managing and wrapping up meetings – both face to face and in telephone conferences.

    It develops the role of the meeting owner in getting ‘the basics’ right in running professional, efficient and effective meetings. Special emphasis will be put on good practice in preparing and disseminating the agenda, in chairing meetings effectively and to time and in recording disseminating and following up on action points.

    It will look at how the manager/meeting owner can, over time, train team members and other meeting participants to contribute fully, effectively and professionally. It covers what to say to people who don’t respect the agenda and its timings, or don’t participate fully and actively etc in a way that will encourage them to change their behaviours without creating a stink! It will explore a wide range of ineffective meeting behaviours and how they can be addressed!

    It will also offer ways when you are taking part in a meeting – but are not the owner – to provide feedback when things are going off track.

    This may sound like frighteningly simple stuff. But it is stuff that in my experience – while ‘known about’ – is rarely done. The workshop will provide participants with simple tools and recipes for their own behaviour that, if used, will ensure that meeting are run professionally.
